Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for an experience 2nd shift/Late Shift Material Handler to work in our Warehouse. The right candidate will have previous experience in stand-up forklift/stand up reach truck, preferably in the food and beverage industry, not required, and have a stable work history with previous employers.

Must be able to be accountable to the company’s need for overtime & weekend work as required.

Training Schedule: FIRST SHIFT

1st shift – Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, over-time and weekends required per production needs

Standard Schedule: SECOND SHIFT

2nd Shift – Monday – Friday, 11:00am-7:30am, over-time and weekends required per production needs

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate the Raymond Stand Up Pacer and/or Stand-Up Reach Trucks to load/unload trucks, move product/materials, and perform material handling duties working as a team
  • Put away finished goods from canning production line to appropriate location within the warehouse
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
  • Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
  • Efficiently stack and safely stores products in their designated area
  • Document material and supply disposition by recording units delivered and location of units
  • Receive credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity, placing materials in stock
  • Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product
  • Document product shipments by recording units shipped
  • Maintain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs
  • Comply with OSHA standards; Adhere to FDA and GMP standards
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a material handling role, preferably in food/beverage manufacturing or a regulated industry
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends in order to complete orders according to business needs
  • Reliability, punctuality, strong sense of urgency and safety record

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience driving Raymond Stand Up Pacers and Stand-Up Reach Trucks is strongly desired
  • Previous experience with understanding of food safety/quality programs such as GMPs, Food Safety, etc.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; talk or hear; reach above shoulders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment; kneel, crouch and use foot/feet to operate machinery; bend at the waist; climb or balance
  • Occasionally required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to ten (10) or more hours in a single shift
